We should compare the history of India and Israel to really understand this issue. Two nations who got independence under similar circumstances and around the same time. The difference was all in the leadership and just see how things turned out so different for the two nations.

Had Sardar Patel been 10 years younger, India would have taken the same path which Israel took. India would have been a country proud of her culture and technologically advanced. When you read the works of Swami Vivekananda and Shri Aurobindo, you clearly see the wasted potential of India these last 70 years. People say Indian contribution to world GDP fell during the Mughal and British times, what nobody talks about is that this fall of Indian contribution to world GDP did not just stop there, it continued to decline even during the Nehruvian era. What a waste!

Indeed sir, it was a great opportunity right after independence to correct things up. Had we followed the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and Shri Aurobindo, we could have done it. But that opportunity was lost.
