Pantheism, like nihilism, asserts that there are no personal gods — no Yahweh, no Allah, no Vishnu, no Thor, no Zeus, no Minerva, nor any other god humanity has ever cooked up
You are confused. Please read the Bhagavad Gita, to understand Vishnu. Pantheism says that this universe is the manifestation of God. In Bhagavad Gita we see many ideas similar to that.
Verse 7.4 — Earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and false ego — all together these eight constitute My separated material energies.
Verse 9.7 — O son of Kuntī, at the end of the millennium all material manifestations enter into My nature, and at the beginning of another millennium, by My potency, I create them again.
This is very different from Judeo-Islamo-Chistian idea of God as separate who creates this world once.
all of existence is worthy of worship. …. This approach has been touted many times throughout history — most notably nowadays in Buddhism, Taoism, and select schools of Hinduism
Again you are confused between Buddhism and Hinduism. I see this a lot of time that people in the west make generalized statements without understanding Indian ideas. Buddhism does not think this world is divine, it thinks this world is empty and should be discarded all together. It is Hinduism which says everything in this world is soaking with Brahman the absolute and so is divine. To put it succinctly, Hindus see God even in painful things, while Buddhist only see this world to be painful.
A Hindu can be Atheistic, Monotheistic, Polytheistic, Pantheistic and Panentheistic at the same time. This idea of making a distinction of these ideas is a western construct. We Indians do not fit in that framework. I request you to not make vast generalizations on our ideas without understanding them. If you do not know about something then please don’t say anything about it.
