Big booty workout is now a sensation in the fitness industry. Many of the young women aspire to have a bootylicious body of pop stars such as Jennifer Lopez or Beyonce. The craze has had its victims. There have been a few cases of young women dying while trying to get silicone injections to enhance their backside. Bigger butt always comes up to be rated as the top body part we look at while choosing our sexual partner. It is true for both males and females. Everybody knows that men prefer women with a thin waist and wide hips as their sexual partner. However research has also shown that women also seem to prefer men with big glutes. In this article we will discuss why this maybe so.

Why Men find Women with Bigger Glutes Attractive

Across all the cultures and races, men seem to prefer the women with small waist and bigger glutes attractive. This preference can be traced back to prehistoric times. While studying remote tribes in Africa, scientists observed how while choosing a mate, men used to line up all the unmarried girls of a village in a row and then the male highest in the hierarchy will choose the girl whose back will protrude out the most. In the Victorian Era, women used to enhance their backside by wearing bustles. Wearing high heels that also help in enhancing how a woman’s backside looks. In the modern times there are silicone injections. Silicone injections can be dangerous and are banned in the US, however there is a flourishing black market for it. Who knows how many of the pop stars have used this approach to enhance their looks

So why do men prefer women with smaller waist and wider hips. There is a scientific explanation provided for this, which goes as follows: Thin waist indicates that the woman is not pregnant and wider hips indicate that the woman will have fewer complications while delivering a baby. So minimize risk while mating, men seem to prefer women with a bigger butt. This explanation is quite correct, however does not provide the full picture. The idea of thin waist is quite clear. The idea of wider hips for delivering the baby generally means that the woman must have a wider pelvis, to allow for safe passage of the baby during the delivery. This explanation would suggest wider hips as seen from the front. However as discussed earlier, men also seem to prefer the hips which are protruding backwards. Wider hips do not necessarily mean that the hips will be protruding backwards. So what is going on?

To explain this, we have to actually consider the spine angle. If you look at most of the images in the media, which portray the backside of a woman, they focus a lot on the curvature of the lower spine. Most often, that curvature is at about 45 degrees. Scientists have carried out studies where they showed men pictures of women with same volume in their glutes, but with different lower spine angles and what they noticed was, repeatedly men showed preference for the women with the lower spine angle of 45 degrees. So it appears that it is not the volume of the glutes, but the angle of the lower spine, which is the underlying cause for this preference.

This preference can be explained again with the suitability for giving birth. The women who have a lower spine angle much smaller or much larger than 45 degrees are at a disadvantage while carrying the baby in their womb. For women with smaller lower spine angle their center of mass will move much forward, while carrying the baby. This will significantly increase in their chance of falling over and injuring themself during a pregnancy. Women with lower spine angle much larger than 45 degrees might experience a lot of stress on their spine, which can again increase complications during their pregnancy. The optimal angle for carrying the baby in their womb is around 45 degrees.

The lesson for ladies from this observation is that, it is more important for you to focus on achieving the right posture and get that optimal 45 degrees’ curvature in the lower spine instead of focusing on increasing the volume of your glutes. Just focusing on glutes training therefore is not sufficient. Your fitness workout must be well balanced overall, so that you can achieve perfect posture. Focusing on full body exercises such as Squats, Romanian Deadlifts and Lunges will provide you far better results over exercises such as Donkey Kicks.

Why Women Prefer Men with Strong Glutes

A lot of men with big glutes get conscious and think that this is something that is negatively affecting their image. This is far from true. Most women that I have spoken with actually find those big glutes kind of cute. What is going on here? Men do not deliver babies, atleast not until now, then why do women have a preference for glutes in men.

Glutes are a clear sign of strength and vigor. For most of the functional movements we engage our glutes. Glutes are a major muscle involved in movements such as

  1. Lifting an object from ground
  2. Squatting Deep
  3. Pushing an object horizontally on the ground
  4. Swinging an object high up
  5. Kicking

As you can see these are all major movements that men had to perform to do their daily work. Most of the athletes therefore have very strong glutes. A Man with strong glutes will make a good mate for a woman. Unfortunately, most men ignore their glutes in their training and focus more on their upper body. A thick back, wide shoulders, bulging chest and big arms are definitely signs of strength in men, however you should not ignore your glutes and hamstrings, these are some of the most powerful muscles in our body.

Having a big butt is just one aspect for your suitability as a sexual partner. There are far too many other more important factors that come into picture when we choose to find a life partner. Therefor do not obsess too much about your glutes. At the end of the day your personality and attitude will trump your glutes anytime in terms of finding the right life partner.
